Quality Assurance Officer (Cold Storage Warehouse)

Role Overview

JOB PURPOSE

  • To support the Quality Assurance team in monitoring product quality, maintaining accurate documentation, and assisting in inspections.
  • To help ensure that warehouse operations follow food safety and quality standards by performing basic checks and clerical support.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Quality Inspections:

    • Conduct regular quality checks on incoming and outgoing products.
    • Inspect the condition and temperature of products upon arrival and prior to dispatch.
    • Perform sensory evaluations (visual, smell, texture) to ensure products meet company standards.
    • Verify product labeling for accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  2. Temperature Monitoring:

    • Monitor and document temperature controls within the cold storage units.
    • Ensure that temperature logs are consistently maintained.
    • Investigate and report any temperature deviations or malfunctions in storage systems.
  3. Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure compliance with local and state food safety standards, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
    • Complete quality control reports and product inspection logs.
    • Maintain accurate records of product movements, shelf life, and condition reports.
  4. Audits and Process Improvement:

    • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure that all processes adhere to quality standards and procedures.
    • Assist in implementing corrective actions for non-compliance or quality issues.
    • Suggest and assist in the development of process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  5. Training and Team Collaboration:

    • Train warehouse staff on quality control processes, product handling, and food safety standards.
    • Work closely with other departments (e.g., Inventory, Operations) to ensure smooth product flow and adherence to quality standards.
  6. Product Handling and Storage:

    • Ensure that all products are stored correctly, including proper stacking, rotation, and stock management.
    • Ensure that storage areas are clean, organized, and free from contaminants.
    • Prepare deviation reports for product and van temperature non-conformity.
  7. Complaint Management:

    • Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and initiate corrective actions.
    • Communicate quality issues to relevant teams and ensure timely resolution.
  8. Sanitation Management:

    • Conduct daily facility audits to assess the overall condition, compliance, efficiency, and safety of the facility.
    • Prepare foot bath and chemical dilution.
    • Conduct daily personnel hygiene audits.
    • Conduct daily pest control audits.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of a 2-year or 4-year course in Food Technology, Nutrition, Agriculture, or related fields.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; prior QA or warehouse experience is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and willing to learn food safety and QA procedures.
  • With good written and oral communication skills.
